At last but not least! SMART-SEN project has just begun!
After two years of many exhibits and presentations (in which Venidera has actively contributed with), the SMART-SEN project has finally started.
During this Friday, many companies have attended a meeting at AES Brasil headquarters to celebrate its beginning. Not only people from its 20 sponsoring companies, but also researchers from each of the contractors (Unicamp, Princeton University, Venidera, Cortes and Sinerconsult), and from organizations such as EPE, ANEEL and ONS have shown up.
The SMART-SEN project aims to address questions related to the massive penetration of intermittent power sources (such as wind and solar) into the Brazilian grid, covering aspects ranging from electrical and operational issues to regulatory improvements to cope with this new scenario.
We are all excited with this new project, and we will keep you all posted as soon as we have outcomes from this research initiative.
